Funding By Check:

  • Make checks PAYABLE TO: Sterne Agee & Leach, Inc.
  • On your check, please include your ACCOUNT NUMBER
  • The check remitter must match the name on the account. Please note: third party and temporary checks are not accepted.

Note the following regarding check deposits:

  • Only personal and business checks will be accepted for deposit
  • No third party checks will be accepted
  • No money orders or cashiers checks will be accepted
  • No starter or temporary checks will be accepted
  • Checks drawn on a foreign account will not be accepted
  • Cash will not be accepted

    • All checks in the amount of $10,000 or greater must be verified with the bank where the funds will be drawn. If the bank will not verify funds, they will be held for 10 days in a cash account and will not be available for trading until the funds have cleared. Upon verification, funds may be used for trading, but cannot be withdrawn for 10 days from the date the check is deposited.

    Transfer an existing account to BEST Direct Securities:

    • You may transfer an existing account from another brokerage firm by submitting an Account Transfer Form with a copy of your most recent statement from the delivering firm.
